Howard B. Schiffer began his career as a midwife when he worked with some of the founders of the home birth movement. He then entered the natural foods marketplace which lead to a number of successes including the creation, development, or introduction of such well known brands as; Dr. Atkins Diet Shake Mix™, Larry North’s “Slim Down” bar™, Drs. Michael & Mary Dan Eades “Protein Power” meal replacement shake™, Balance Bars™ and more. In 1994 he founded Vitamin Angel Alliance, the humanitarian arm of the natural products industry. Mr. Schiffer lives in Santa Barbara, California with his wife and three children.
